About Me

Living in a regional town in NSW Australia, I'm a stay-at-home-mother (SAHM) of one beautiful 2yo son. I am engaged to a wonderful man who I met my first day of university and have been friends with ever since.

While I grew up in Perth, WA and Brisbane, QLD and my fiancé grew up in a very small mining community in Arnhem Land NT, we both shares a desire to enjoy the good things in life while not breaking our very small bank account. We always seek quality over quantity but above all want to get great value out of every dollar.

I am currently completing my Bachelor of Economics degree which was put on hold when we fell pregnant and will now be finished via correspondence so that I can continue to be at home for my family.

I can't say I was always going to be a frugal home-maker - in fact, if you ask any of my friends from high school they will tell you that I was destined (or at least planning) to be a single, childless career woman. I never expected to want to marry and have children but this is where my life has taken me and I am both surprised and delighted with it's choice.

My views of business and economics - as was my original path for a career - have blended nicely with running a household and budget. It seems to come second nature to me that everything we do is a choice and each choice has a consequence, some good and some bad. This value can be applied to all of life, in business and at home.

My approach is to apply what I've learned in my (albeit small) experience in economics to my family life and to share this process with my readers.

I hope you all (however many or few there are out there) enjoy reading and begin to feel that budgeting is not a chore but a way of getting what you want out of life.
Please write to me to tell me what you are interested in learning about or anything you think should be shared with other economummies and econodaddies!

xx Economummy

  1. I'm choosing to feel loved not lame by the fact that my only followers are my parents... and only one of them knows how to comment (though that might be a blessing!)
